Mun: the dream inside Lulu Cinnamon

Mun: the dream inside Lulu Cinnamon

By Lucas Balanzó

If I had to choose one song that gave birth to Lulu Cinnamon, it would be Mun.

It is the song that draws the dream most explicitly. A warrior comes down to Earth, searching for the northern lights for the Moon. There is a separation of the character there, told in a way that feels very tender and close to me.

Lulu Cinnamon is a journey through a dream, following two figures who are really one. Mun tells that tale. The other songs are the points of view of those two parts.

That is how I think about their relationship: there is the story itself, and there are the perspectives from inside it. Mun is the clearest telling of the story.

The world of the album feels magical, naive and childlike to me. Light and dreamy. It is a tale, a poem, and Mun is where I can point to that world most directly.

When I think about what made this album begin, I come back to that warrior, the Moon and the search for the northern lights.
