The day I found the name Lulu Cinnamon

The day I found the name Lulu Cinnamon

By Lucas Balanzó

It happened on an ordinary day, a few months before I really started the project.

I was at a table, beside a girl. She isn’t the girl in the title. I was saying a name I love, and I said “Lulu Cinnamon.”

Hearing it out loud took me straight to where the songs wanted to be. It was instant. I heard the words I had just spoken and realised I had found the title of the album.

The project had passed through other names: Bricks, Limitless Undying Love, and a few more. Then Lulu Cinnamon appeared in the middle of a completely everyday moment, and I recognised it.

That was where the mythology began. It was also where the trilogy began. Was it a coincidence? I don’t think so.

There is still a mystery in that name for me. Lulu Cinnamon is someone. I believe she knows who she is, although I haven’t discovered it yet. I wonder whether I ever will, and what will happen when I do.

For now, that ordinary moment has a whole album attached to it.
